Seated Greek Terracotta Figurine
Seated Greek Terracotta Figurine
This terracotta figure, representing a female character, is a beautifully crafted seated piece adorned with a cone-shaped hat/crown. Her arms rest serenely on her lap, and the facial features—nose, eyes, and mouth—are delicately defined. She is draped in a long gown that flows gracefully down to her feet.
The clay is of high quality, exhibiting a warm brownish or pale-orange hue, while greyish encrustations embellish the figure's surface. Dated to around 500 - 300 BC, this piece is unmistakably classical in origin, possibly hailing from Athens or Rhodes.
