This fine Oenochoe from ancient Etruscan Greece was traditionally used to serve wine mixed with water. Imagining the types of wines poured from this vessel connects us to the rich traditions and daily life of the Etruscans.

The vase is simply decorated - the lower half has not been painted, while the upper half has been painted in a dark-brown colour.

Provenance: Ex. private collection, Copenhagen; inherited from a family member.

Culture & Date: Etruscan, 500 – 400 BC.

Condition: Fine, with a small chip at the mouth.
