Gandharan art is Buddhistic art, greatly inspired by the Roman and Greek art, giving it's distinct look and expression, that not much other buddhistic art has. The gandharan art startet flourishing around the 1st century BC and the 7th century AD and was developed in the regions which today are eastern Afghanistan and northwestern Pakistan.
Gandharan antiquities that most people have seen or know of are probably the stone relief fragments and figures made in grey-ish stone with light-brown dirt. These schists often have intricately carved figures, and other beautifully detailed carvings.
