This beautiful flute, very likely from the Manteno culture of Ecuador, features intricate details such as a beak, two eyes, one leg (the other is missing), and wings.

Culture & Date: Manteno Culture, Ecuador, 800 - 1200 AD.

Provenance: Private collection, Nysø Estate in Denmark. Acquired by a pharmaceutical family during travels to South America in the 1880s.

Condition: Fine, with small chips on the leg and wing. See pictures.
