Ming-Dynasty Zodiac Dog Terracotta Grave Figure

This charming and rare Ming Dynasty dog tomb figurine is painted in two typical colors, yellow and green. Mould-made and painted before firing, the paint remains completely intact. The figure features fine details such as the eyes, ears, mouth, nose, tail, and ribs. Animal figurines like this are uncommon compared to the more frequently seen Ming characters, such as waiters and musicians.

Provenance: Former private collection, acquired from a dealer in Denmark; originally acquired in China.
