This astonishing Roman glass flask features a round base and has developed a breathtaking iridescence over time. Although the small base at the mouth has unfortunately broken off, the flask remains an exquisite example of ancient glasswork.

The history of glassmaking dates back to the 3rd millennium BC in the Mesopotamian region, evolving significantly over the subsequent millennia.

Provenance: Ex. deceased estate, Copenhagen.

Culture & Date: Roman, 2nd - 3rd century AD.

Condition: Very fine, with the mouth missing.
